Srd. Gurlal Singh Riar

As the Founder of District Swimming Association, he had the honour of serving as a qualified FINA official and officiating as the technical official for Swimming Federation of India during the Commonwealth Games. With over 27 years of experience, he honed his skills as a Swim Coach, guiding athletes to excel personally and competitively. His background includes being a two-time national medalist in breaststroke to achieving the position of Deputy Director Sports, Punjab in 2021. He take pride in training numerous swimmers to reach national and inter-university levels, utilizing powerful techniques to help them maximize their athletic performance. His contribution and continued journey of training and skill-building in the world of Indian swimming is commendable.

Mr. Manan Mahajan

He is a successful businessman & embodies the epitome of experiential exploration fused with unwavering determination. His mantra, "maximum impact," not only defines his ethos but resonates as the guiding principle of his life's journey. A sports connoisseur, with Swimming his muse , seamlessly juggles his roles as a family man, epicurean enthusiast, and intrepid super-biker. He was the first swimmer from Pathankot to represent District in 1989 & remained District’s best swimmer from 1989-1996 & further representing DAV college and Punjab University at various levels in multiple disciplines and games . At the age of 48 he won 3 Golds and 1 Silver in National Pan India Master Games in 2022 representing Punjab – swimming is something he is truly passionate about! In his free time, you can find him coaching his son or trying to hone his swimming skills. Beyond the confines of conventionality, he thrives, embracing each dawn as a canvas for boundless exploration and unbridled joy. In Manan's world, aquatic sports knows no bounds, and every moment is an invitation to embrace the extraordinary performance .

Mr. Surinder Mahajan

Surinder is the pivot of District Swimming Association & after retiring from professional business in his early 60’s, Surinder didn’t leave the pool behind. He transitioned into Masters swimming, where he continued to dominate, setting numerous state records in 65-70 and 70 + age group categories at National level . His enduring passion for the sport also led him to become a mentor to younger swimmers, many of whom have gone on to achieve state & national success. Beyond his personal achievements, Surinder has made significant contributions to the sport of swimming. He has been involved in several community programs aimed at making swimming accessible to underprivileged youth. His experience and expertise have made him a sought-after speaker at swimming clinics , where he shares insights from his decades-long contribution to the game . ] He is a family man to the T have trained his entire family in competitive swimming. His son and his nephews all swam for Punjab at national levels. The Mahajan family remains deeply involved in the swimming community, often volunteering at local meets and events. Surinder is popularly known for his sense of humor ,humility and the genuine support he offers to fellow swimmers, regardless of their level. He continues to swim daily at our Municipal Swimming Pool , competing in Masters events and coaching the next generation of swimmers. For him , swimming is more than a sport; it’s a lifelong passion that has shaped every aspect of his life.
